Then, I moved to the US and started a post-doctoral research fellowship at the most prestigious medical institutions in the world, “ the Johns Hopkins Hospital” in Baltimore, Maryland.
During that time, I published over 40 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, abstracts and presented my research at national and international meetings. It also helped me to better understand medical research, differentiate what is genuine and better apply the most recent scientific findings into my practice.
This was followed by general surgery training at the best general surgery program in the US, where the world leaders of surgery take on the most complex patients from all across the world.
PS: In case you are wondering, I am the 5th from left; and yes I used to have a goatee!
